Lake Kayaking with West Coast Kayaking

Sligo and Leitrim are packed with some amazing lakes full of fantastic views and beautiful islands just waiting to be explored by kayak. A trip from Hazelwood to the famous Lake Isle of Inishfree and Parkes Castle by kayak on a warm summer evening is a truly memorable experience and one not to be missed. Lough Key is another favourite destination with Castle Island among others easy to get to by kayak. For nature enthusiasts Lough Melvin is internationally renowned for its unique range of plants and animals and is perfect for exploration by kayak which has an extremely low impact when compared to motorised boats

 

The level 1 and 2 kayak syllabus can also be completed in a lake setting – perfect for those who like going on longer trips but aren’t too mad on salty seawater !
